Dates Set for Music In The Garden

On this snowy morning your thoughts may be turning to Spring. Here at Boxerwood our staff and volunteers are looking and planning ahead for more opportunities for you to enjoy the woodland garden.

Boxerwood has set the dates for this year's Music In The Garden Programs. Additional dates have been added to this popular free event where the general public is invited to bring a picnic to the Field Stage area and enjoy entertainment by local musicians.

The Friday evening dates are:

April 24
May 15 and 29
June 12 and 26
July 10 and 24
August 14 and 28
September 11

Since we will not be hosting a Boxerwoodstock music event in July, we have added more dates for Music in the Garden. We hope you and your family can find time to stop by on one or more of these evenings.

Dedication of Founders Wing

On Sunday November 16th the Boxerwood Education Association dedicated it newly renovated and repurposed Founders Wing at the Munger Lodge.  This project allows Boxerwood to have additional inclement weather classroom and meeting space allowing flexibility in scheduling of activities a the Nature Center.  All of this was made possible through the donation of time and skills by volunteers who not only remodeled the interior of the building, but had to do structural work on the exterior to support the 50 year old roof.

PLAY AGAIN: the consequences of a childhood removed from nature

November 17, 2014  8:30pm

Stackhouse Theater, Elrod Commons

Come see PLAY AGAIN in Stackhouse Theatre at 8:30 pm.
One generation from now, most people in the US will have spent more time in the virtual world than in nature. But what are we missing when we are behind screens? And how will this impact our children, our society, and eventually, our planet? At a time when children play more behind screens than outside, PLAY AGAIN explores the changing balance between the virtual and natural worlds. Is our connection to nature disappearing down the digital rabbit hole?
