A New Way To Support Boxerwood

A new way for supporters to become and renew memberships or make donations to the Boxerwood Nature Center and Woodland Garden has been set up at our online payment site.  You can now establish recurring payments directly from your debit or credit car account that will go to backing of Boxerwood programs and garden.

You can choose an amount that will be charged to your account on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, or annual basis.

As an example, a person could choose to donate $20 a month.  This would add up to a total donation for a year of $240 as a Sustaining membership of Boxerwood.

You will then see questions to answer to aid you in setting up your donation.

As always, thank you for your interest in and support of Boxerwood.  Without the patronage of our community Boxerwood would not be able to continue to keep its garden and facilities open and provide environmental education programs to school children in the Rockbridge area.

Have An Urge For Pancakes?

This Saturday February 23rd the Waddell Elementary PTA will be hosting a pancake breakfast at the Applebee's Restaurant in Lexington, Virginia.  The money made from this fund raiser will be used to help fund Waddell's field trips to Boxerwood Nature Center and Woodland Garden.  Volunteers will be serving up pancakes, juices, coffee, and tea.  Stop by if you are in town between 8am and 10am.

On December 6th Boxerwood recognized and thanked its volunteers with a luncheon.

Gifts of Nature Coming To Boxerwood This Saturday

Gifts Of Nature This Saturday December 8th at 1pm at Boxerwood: Gather with other local families at Munger Lodge to craft a holiday feast for the birds and wildlife that winter in Rockbridge. Honeysuckle wreaths, dried fruit icicles, cranberry garlands and suet-and-seed cupcakes are among the creature treats you can make at Boxerwood’s annual Gifts of Nature workshop. Families are also encouraged to bring burned-out incandescent light bulbs (not compact fluorescents) and last year’s holiday cards to repurpose and transform into beautiful Christmas ornaments.  The fee to  participate is $5/family for Boxerwood members or $10/family for non-members. Boxerwood will provide vines, cones, winter berries, and greenery harvested from the woodland garden, as well as suet, raffia, ribbon and other project supplies. Families are asked to contribute one type of wildlife food, such as seeds, nuts, dried fruit, popcorn, citrus or fresh cranberries that will be shared by all participants.
